On the east coast its a family affair, you have the Soprano's, the Campbell's, and then you have the Giblin's.

Dennis Giblin son of Vince Giblin the President of the IUOE was arrested for doing what seems to be taken as a right for anyone in union office these day's. Dennis the President of IUOE Local 68 is also the nephew of New Jersey state Assemblyman Thomas Giblin, Thomas Giblin just happens to be the Business Manager for Local 68. Dennis was charged today in an alleged kickback scheme as federal prosecutors continued to investigate what sources have called a corruption probe into a union local and the politically active family that has run it for decades.
Dennis Giblin had been previously named a co-conspirator by his title and initials in a criminal complaint filed against one of his friends and employees, Christopher Ruton. That complaint has now been dismissed, according to Anthony Moscato, an assistant U.S. attorney handling the case. And as if the family wasn't getting their fair share of union member dues money, Vincent Giblin Jr. , the IUOE Presidents other son, is an attorney also has his hand in the IUOE till as some type of consultant. A quick look at the 2006 and 2007 LM2 will bear this little know fact out immediately.
According to Anthony Moscato, an assistant U.S. attorney handling the case, Moscato said Giblin allegedly had audio visual equipment installed in his Jersey City condominium in 2005 at a reduced price by a vendor that had done similar work for the union fund. In exchange, he said, Giblin threw more work to the vendor and paid for the labor done at his house with union funds. If I didn't know better it sounds like Bill Dugan must have given seminars to the IUOE on how to rip off the members. Oh another little known fact is that Dennis was never elected President of Local 68, he was anointed by his daddy Vincent senior. Now there's a family that really sticks together. I can hardly wait for Judge James R Zazalli to get a hold of this one. I am sure he'll handle just like he's doing in Local 17, Local 825 with the Campbell crooks, or like he investigated corruption in IUOE Local 150. Something stinks.
